Misfits & Heroes: West From Africa by Kathleen Flanagan Rollins

Every once in a while I read a book that I'm just not sure what to think of it and that is what happened when I read Misfits and Heroes by Kathleen Flannagan Rollins. The book starts out as the story of a young man who had lived on his own in Africa since he was a young child. He ends up rescuing a girl and it seems that the rest of the book will be their story of the people they meet and their struggles to survive.
For the most part this is what happens but there are times in the book where neither of these characters are involved and it seems like the plot is lost for a time. During those chapters the book itself is very confusing but for the rest it is a wonderful story. You'll get to read about wars, magic men, demons, and lots of beautiful landscapes as the characters travel through Africa and to the islands along the coast.
If you like an interesting read where you need to really focus to follow the plot than this is a great book for you!
